the firm

Plain Impact is a sustainability strategy practice based in Dubai, serving companies and investors across the Gulf Cooperation Council and broader MENA region.

We exist because sustainability shouldn't be bolted onto a business after the fact. It should be embedded from the start, in how companies operate, how they govern, how they report, and how they create long-term value.

We work with growth-stage companies, listed mid-caps, private equity and venture capital firms, and the boards and executives who lead them. Every engagement is designed to build something that lasts beyond the project; systems, capabilities, and confidence that stay with the client.

the approach

  • Blurred abstract background with soft pastel colors of blue, pink, and purple.

    We start with what matters.

Every engagement begins with understanding what's material to your business, your stakeholders, your investors, and your regulators. We don't apply generic frameworks. We build around the ESG issues that actually affect your performance, your risk profile, and your access to capital

  • Close-up view of a textured surface with a grid pattern, possibly fabric or a patterned material in grayscale.

    We build systems, not reports.

Reports sit on shelves. Systems drive decisions. We design sustainability infrastructure that integrates into how your team already works; from data collection to board reporting to investor communications.

  • Blurred motion of a landscape during sunset or sunrise with soft pink, orange, and green hues.

    We transfer knowledge, not dependence.

Every engagement includes capacity building. We train your people, document our methods, and build internal ownership from day one. The measure of our success is how well things run after we're gone.

  • A straight, empty road with yellow lines in a foggy landscape, minimal visibility.

    We speak both languages.

We understand the technical standards, IFC Performance Standards, GRI, ISSB, LEED, WELL, Estidama, TCFD, the ADX and DFM disclosure frameworks. And we understand the commercial reality; fundraising timelines, LP expectations, deal structures, regulatory deadlines, and what investors and boards actually look for. We bridge the two.

the experience

Our work is grounded in direct experience building Environmental and Social Management Systems under IFC Performance Standards across MENA and Latin American markets. We’ve supported companies through Series A fundraising, advised on renewable energy procurement strategy across six countries, and helped organisations achieve LEED Gold, WELL Gold, and Estidama certifications.

We bring perspective from both sides of the table; as operators who’ve built sustainability programmes inside companies, and as advisors to investors evaluating ESG risk and opportunity.
